The Quinta do Salgueiro is located in the North-Eastern part of Portugal, next to the Spanish border and right in the middle of the Douro Natural Park. The river Douro region, well known for its vineyards, is where the famous Port wine comes from. |

The Quinta do Salgueiro is situated on the outskirts of the village of Freixo de Espada À Cinta, birthplace of one of the biggest poets of Portuguese literature, Abílio Manuel GUERRA JUNQUEIRO (1850-1923). In the Quinta do Salgueiro you will be welcome by Margarida Guerra Junqueiro, who established this tourism house after having made an international career in tourism. This, recently restored, XIX century house provides a calm and comfortable setting, whilst enjoying the peace of the magnificent Trás os Montes region.
